Spring Beauty Rejuvenation Kit

Most Wanted and Voucher Codes sent me a little info about their latest research. They found that 18-24 year olds are spending £150 on refreshing their make-up bags after winter. To me, this seems like a lot of money and I think that with as little as £50 you can have you’re make-up bag ready for the spring and summer months.
For me, the most important items within a beauty routine, no matter what time of the year, are  moisturisers. Keeping your skin hydrated is very important and I find the more I look after my skin (which I haven’t been doing lately) the less I need to use foundations and powders. I seem to have more motivation to do this as the summer months start rolling round.

Botanics Ultra Calm Day Cream, Botanics Ultra Calm Night Cream and Botanics Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream = £13.98 with Boots 3 for 2 offer.

So my first items are a day cream with SPF15, a night cream and a cleansing cream. I picked these from the Botanics range in Boots, I have used this brand a lot over the years and always find myself going back to it. What made my choices even better was the 3 for 2 offer. Boots usually have an offer of some sort on; you just have to time it right. So my skin care routine cost £13.98 in total, not bad for 3 quality products. I should probably mention that the non sensitive skin range was a little cheaper but my skin my be quite temperamental.

Palmer’s lip balm – £1.98

Lip balm is something which is always knocking about in my bag. If I’m honest there are usually a few on the go at once but I like to make sure I have at least one containing SPF15, just incase we get a little sunshine. I started using Palmer’s lip balm the other day, it’s really moisturising and has that lovely cocoa butter scent to it.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation – £8.99 and Wake Me Up shimmer from the same range in boots – £4.99

I find that the more I use foundation and powders the more sensitive my skin becomes. I try to cut down on my usage during the summer months but there are still days where I feel I need to slap a bit on to help me look awake in the mornings. I only apply a small amount and have found that Wake Me Up by Rimmel is very good for building up or keeping it light.

Using a highlighter with or without foundation can make all the difference to making you look a little more fresh in the morning. I tend to use highlighters throughout the year but go for one with a bit more of a shimmer in the s/s months. The one I have ready for spring is from the Wake Me Up range by Rimmel. It adds a little sparkle and light flush of pink to your skin.

Bourjois Queen Attitude Mascara  – £7.49 and Rimmel Khol Kajal eyes pencil  £2.99

When it comes to mascara I always fining picking one a little overwhelming. After trying many high-street brands and not being satisfied I got lucky with a Bourjois one. This one has a thing brush and seems to make my lashes appear longer and separated. Alongside my mascara I like to wear a white eyeliner in the corner of my eyes but can also be used on the eyelid.

Rimmel Apocalips – £5.99

It didn’t take me long to decide which lip product I would be adding into my spring rejuvenation kit. I am a huge fan of the new Apocalips range from Rimmel. They have a wide range of colours appropriate for s/s13 and can be built up or used lightly. For just £5.99 you get a fantastic lip product which is something between a lipstick and a lip gloss, without the sticky factor.

Finally, to finish off my beauty kit I decided to pick a nail varnish. It might not be something that everyone has in their make-up bag but I often find myself doing my nails at the train station. This is Round and Round the Garden from Rimmel which is a perfect shade for s/s13 and costs just £2.99.

Total spend: £49.40
