I use hand cream on a daily basis and find myself trying new ones every month. However, when it comes to winter I have 3 firm favourites to help me battle against the cold weather. It wouldn’t be fair to keep these 3 treasures to myself, so today I’m going to share them with you.
In no particular order these are the 3 hand creams I always have knocking about during the cold weather months:
Superdrug Hand Therapy – 99p – This is a cheap and cheerful cream. It has a fairly thick consistency and doesn’t leave your hands greasy. It’s ideal to keep at work or in your college bag because you can continue what you’re doing once you’ve applied the cream. A small amount used frequently throughout the day will help to keep your hands moisturised.
This cream isn’t ideal for an evening intensive treatment but it works well to keep dry hands at bay during the day.
Hemp – £5 – I think this is one of the best selling creams at The Body Shop. The consistency is very thick and doesn’t wash off throughout the day. It’s long lasting and I only feel the need to apply it once or twice a day. I tend to keep this in my bag for when my hands need a sudden shot of moisture during the day. It’s also useful to use before bed as it’s very intensive. If I don’t use a cream at night my hands can become rough. Hemp cream does a fantastic job at restoring moisture and leaves my hands soft for the day ahead.
The only thing you should keep in mind is that Hemp can be a little greasy, give it 5 minutes before you start typing away on your laptop.
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula – £3.89 (£2.89 at the moment)- This is a thick gel type formula and you only need to use a little to get the most out of it. I find that this hand cream lasts well throughout the day and I only need to apply it in the morning and evening. I like using this cream in the evening, especially when my hands are particularly dry and chapped. I use a little extra at night and then apply cotton gloves so it can fully soak into my hands. When morning rolls ’round my hands feel moisturised and soft.
I tend to use this cream a few times a week but if my hands are feeling very bad then it will be my ‘go to’ product for a few days ’till I’m back on track.
