This neat little hand cream was a Christmas gift from C. As it’s such a special and expensive hand cream I started by only use it when my hands were really dry but it quickly found its way into my daily bag.
First off you must know that this cream has a lovely subtle and fresh smell. It’s perfect for summer and makes me dream about being on a summer holiday.
Although there are many good things about the Shea Butter hand cream, one of the best is that it soaks straight into your skin. Those of you who use creams for dry skin will know that they can often be greasy and you’re left waiting for a good ten minutes before you can continue with your day. While creams like that are necessary in the cold winter months, the summer calls for something a little lighter yet still moisturising. With this cream there’s no waiting around. You can continue typing almost as soon as it’s been applied. The consistency of the cream is rich yet not too thick and works very well for those of us with dry and sensitive skin.
A little of this cream goes a long way. Be careful not to squeeze too much out of the tube, it’s very easy to do!
I’ve also found that the cream is long lasting. I only need to apply it twice throughout the day, if that. I still use a very thick hand cream at night, but this one stays in my hand bag. Luckily, I still have some of the cream left. I’ve tried not to over use it and often alternate between this and my Hemp cream from The Body Shop. I’ve realised that when something works it’s good to invest in it. When it’s all used up and I’ve finished off other hand creams, I’ll be buying this again. The travel size (30ml) is £8 and the large (150ml) is £19. I imagine that I’ll go for the travel size again because it’s such a handy size to keep in my bag.
What is the most you would spend on a hand cream? If I know a product was going to work and keep my skin soft and moisturised then I’m happy to spend between £10-£15. That all depends on the size and alternatives available.
