I’ve just spent an hour going through my skin care travel bits and getting rid of empties. I thought this would be the perfect time to share some of my favourites with you.
The items in this post are things I’ve been using over the last month or two for weekend trips away in England (nothing too exciting, just planning the move). Some of the products have been part of my skin care routine for years. I think it’s good to take products you can trust away on trips, especially if you have sensitive skin. I also think it’s important to continue with a skin routine even when you’re away from home. If you get out of the habit of applying eye cream and foot cream it can be hard to get back into the swing of it. It’s not exactly fun.
Anyway, here are a few products I’ve enjoyed using on my latest travels:
L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream – This hand cream was a gift from my auntie. I reviewed it about two weeks ago and as it’s a firm favourite at the moment. I decided to take it away with me because it only needs to be applied once in the morning and my hands stay moisturised throughout the day. I think the winter months will call for a larger tube of this.
Nick Chavez Pump N Thick Spray – This came in a Birchbox quite some time ago. It’s a really handy size for travelling and that’s the time I get the most use out of it. I find that the product works best with just a little spritz at the roots (I tip my head upside down for this).
Blistex MedPlus – It’s essential to keep a lip balm in your bag at all time. Actually, I often have a few on the go at once. I’ve just rediscovered Blistex MedPlus. This is particularly good for when your lips are really dry. I may have had some (a lot of) dairy recently and it’s made just above my top lip sore. MedPlus is working hard to sort this out.
Soap & Glory Flake Away Scrub – This was a gift from my friend and I’ve absolutely loved using it. It was actually one of the first Soap & Glory products I’ve tried. It has a very sweet scent and is the type of scrub to use once or twice a week. The grains are pretty harsh but I like that and I only use it on certain areas of my body. I find the scrub works a treat on your elbows and feet. This pot is almost at an end so I’ll be replacing it soon. I’m keen to try out more products from Soap & Glory now.
Dove Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena Deodorant – I’ve repurchased this over and over again throughout the last year. It has a lovely subtle scent and lasts all day without leaving any white marks. You can’t ask for much more from a deodorant.
Dry2Alive Face & Body Hydrating Cream – This tube of cream was sent over by the friendly folk at MyPure. If you have dry and sensitive skin then this is ideal. The thing I like best about this cream is that it absorbs quickly into your skin. I’ve used this on my face, neck, arms and legs and have found no irritation from it. Actually, this cream works really well for when your skin is itchy. If you have dry skin or maybe an intolerance to dairy then you will know what I mean. My hands and face can become very itchy when dry and I’ve found that applying a thick layer of this cream really helps to sooth it. It has a fresh and subtle scent and will be a firm favourite for my next few weekend trips.
Burt’s Bees’ Sensitive Eye Cream – This is my second tube of the product and although it’s difficult to open (I’ve no idea why) I really enjoy using it. This cream is light and cooling so I tend to use it both at night and fist thing in the morning.
Mavala Soothing Scrub Cream – This is a little sample size of product. I think it was sent to me a while back. Once I’ve used up the last bits I’m going to have to purchase a full size. I have a variety of foot creams I’m using at the moment but this is the only scrub I have used. The product is filled with chunky grains which help to remove and prevent dry skin. I’ve been applying the scrub to my feet towards the end of my shower which makes it easy to use.
Clarins One Step Cleanser – I use this cleanser both in the morning and at night. This is a cleanser I’ve used on and off for a good few years and it will always be a firm favourite. I always like to have a bottle to hand because I know it works well. I find it very refreshing and I’m always shocked about all the dirt and excess make-up it removes from my face. You don’t always realise how much city life can get to your poor skin.
Do you continue with your usual skin care routine when you travel?
