It had been a while since I’d last ventured into Homebase. I used to live fairly close to it in Norwich and often popped in for a browse a couple of times a month. I’ve always enjoyed spending my hard-earned money on my home, or inside my home as it were, I’m currently renting. I think it’s nice to make your home feel cosy as it’s a place you spend a lot of time, especially during the winter months and even more so now that I’m working from home.
About a month ago that the girls from Homebase got in touch and armed me with a few vouchers (thanks guys) to check out their latest stock. I managed to located the nearest Homebase in Sheffield and we jumped on the tram the other weekend to check it out. It wasn’t the prettiest of routes but once we arrived it was worth it.
Christmas was in full swing at Homebase, trees were decorated with twinkling lights and shiny red and green baubles, festive kitchenwear was stacked high on shelves and there were big sections dedicated to lighting, furniture, bathroom essentials and much more. It made me want to up my game in a search for a place to call my own. Something I didn’t realise was that Habitat is now part of Homebase, did you know that? The section was small but they had a good mix of bedding and kitchenware and as always, the Habitat range is beautiful.
There was a lot to look at but in the end I picked up a few bits to make my current home feeling a little more festive and cosy during the run-up to Christmas. I went for some fairy lights, a pastel mint lamp, festive bedding, a cosy throw and finally I picked up lots of Kilner jars to keep my kitchen looking a little neater.
During the summer months I often stick to white bedding with pastel pillow cases. However, when winter rolls ’round I’m always keen to to switch from fresh and crisp to cosy and warm. My new bedding (I can’t find it on the site but it’s still in store) and throw have been on my bed for a week now and I really like them. I get quite cold at night so I often wrap myself up in the throw and have a hot water bottle at my feet.
I decided to take two different snaps of my new mint green lamp to give you a better idea of the colour. It’s a perfect pastel mint shade which I really like and it fits with the white and pink theme in my office. Unfortunately I couldn’t give you much of a look into my current office as it’s filled with the guest bed, stock and packaging for Indiecana.
I’ve been keeping my kitchen neat and organised with these Kilner jars. They’ve really made a big difference to how I store food and they do an excellent job at keeping it all fresh. I just need to get some hipster chalk board labels to add onto them now.
I’m hoping to fit in a trip back to Homebase this week to find a Christmas tree. Have you put yours up yet?
