I hope you’ve all had a good weekend, hasn’t it gone by quickly? On Friday I had a lovely day in London and then the rest of the weekend has been focused on working on this little blog and Indiecana.
Today I want to talk to you about the Daniel Wellington St Andrews Rose watch*. Like me, I’m sure you’ve seen beautifully shot photos of Daniel Wellington watches knocking about on Instagram and I can tell you that they’re just as gorgeous in real life.
As always, I did a little research into the brand. Daniel Wellington is a Swedish brand. It was started by a chap called Filip Tysander and named after a fellow friend he met travelling. This friend was Daniel Wellington, he was wearing a customised Rolex with a NATO strap and that’s where it all started. Speaking of which, all Daniel Wellington watches have interchangeable straps, so you can truly make your watch unique to you. There’s a host of straps available so that you can invest in one face and then treat yourself to a couple of straps and you’ll have a different watch for every occasion.
I got back into wearing a watch towards the end of last summer when I treated myself to a grey one from Marc Jacobs. It’d been years since I wore a watch but I realised that it was something I really needed in my life. So now I have two, one for summer and then this beauty for winter. Since wearing watches again I’ve noticed that I reach for my phone less often when I’m out and about.
The St Andrews Rose watch is slim, classic and traditional. The brown leather strap gives it a smart look and is very comfortable to wear. It has a big round face, not one of those obnoxiously big faces, but it’s clear, crisp and slim. It has a rose gold plated stainless steel case which gives the large face an elegant feel.
Thank you so much to the chaps over at Shade Station for letting me finally try out a Daniel Wellington watch – they have a fair few of the designs on sale at the moment. The delivery of the watch was very quick, it was well packaged and I’m sure I’ll be using the website again, they have a good selection of products. Oh, and there’s a 2 year guarantee with the watch, something which is always handy.
Tell me, do you wear a watch, or are you happy using your phone?
