If you happen to find yourself in the centre of Cambridge on a Sunday then make sure you visit the market. It’s right in the centre (Market Hill), you can’t miss it. There are lots of stalls selling clothes, handmade pots, fresh flowers, sweet waffles, coffee, beautifully baked bread, Jamaican patties and my favourite of all, olives.
You’ll find Borough Olives next to the bread stall which is opposite Great St Mary’s Church. The guy who runs the stall is very friendly and always lets you sample the olives before making your final decisions. My dad visits the market every week but I only get there one a month so I always stock up.
Some of my favourites from the stall are:
- Pitted green olives with parsley
- Green olives stuffed with almonds
- Green olives stuffed with piri piri chillies
- Sun dried tomatoes
- Black tapenade
- Harissa
- Sweet and spicy peppers
I like most of what they sell at Borough Olives, actually I don’t think there’s anything I dislike. It’s all very very good. If you manage to visit the market then let me know which your favourite olives are.
