I hope you’ve all had a good start to the week. I’m a little under the weather today so I’m just popping on here to tell you about the delicious vegan cupcake I had at the weekend. Although I’m not vegan I do try very hard to eat as much vegan food as possible and as many of you will know, I can’t eat dairy.
On Saturday we swung by the Vegan Festival. It was held at the Interval Cafe which is at the Sheffield Student Union. The weather was lovely on Saturday and there were lots of people bustling around the little market stalls. There were lots of local vegan businesses there and the Interval Cafe offers lots of fab vegan options too.
Sadly we couldn’t stay long but we did manage to grab a cupcake from The Very Friendly Cupcake Company. They only had a few flavours left when we got there, these cupcakes are popular! If you check out their photos on FB you’ll see that they started the day with a selection of huge cakes and a variety of cupcakes. They also offered gluten free options too.
I went for the Irish Cream cupcake and it was so good. The sponge had a rich chocolate flavour and was perfectly soft to bite. Not at all dry like some vegan cakes I’ve had in the past. The icing had a strong Irish cream flavour which worked so well with the chocolate sponge. I can’t wait to try more of their cupcakes.
You can find The Very Friendly Cupcake Company at Coffee Revolution & Interval Cafe/Bar at Sheffield Student Union.
