Despite having worked in multiple health food shops over the years I’ve never used any supplements. However, in the recent months I’ve started thinking about them a lot as I’m determined to get my skin looking its best (damn allergies) and start taking my health a lot more seriously.
With a little encouragement and guidance from the folk over at Seven Seas I’m going to be putting their Simply Timeless Cod Liver Oil supplements to the test.
In April I’ll be hitting my 30th birthday. I’m very much looking forward to it and just like Seven Seas, I believe that age is just a number. I’m much more happy, content and self-aware now than I was in my early twenties. I spent too long trying to be other people but at last, I know who I am and I play to those strengths.
Seven Seas are aiming to inspire and motivate people to live their #TRUEAGE and forget about society’s expectations. This is something I really believe in, I know too many people who want to hit society’s goals instead of their own. I want to use my birthday as a marking point for taking my career to the next level as well as adding a little more self-care into my daily life. I work very hard and I love it but I think it’s equally important to be getting enough exercise, eating well and, of course, getting enough sleep. Without these things it’s impossible to work hard. I’m hoping through the addition of these supplements I’ll be able to optimise my health and wellbeing throughout 2017 which should have a knock on effect for my work.
I started taking the supplements just over a week ago. It’s just one capsule a day with a cold drink, an easy and great start to the day. I’ve quickly got into the habit of taking them each morning with a big glass of water. I use this as a chance to kick-start my water intake for the day. Does anyone else find that it’s always a bit of a challenge to drink enough water throughout the day?
I was pleasantly surprised, no, I was delighted that the supplements were small and easy to take. I had previously had this image of a large capsule which would be uncomfortable and hard to swallow. Luckily, I was wrong. They’re a small and neat oval shape which makes them glide down with ease.
A Cod Liver Oil capsule each morning is a simple and easy way to top up the body’s general health and wellbeing as one gets older. They contain vitamin D which is good for supporting your bones and the essential Omega-3 fatty acids help to maintain normal vision and brain function. That all sounds pretty good to me.
Cod Liver Oil supplements are a classic, and one many of us will have seen on our parents and grandparents shelves over the years. There’s clearly a reason they’re a firm favourite with each generation. We now live particularly busy lives and it can sometimes be difficult to ensure we’re getting enough Omega-3 fats into our body. These can be linked to low mood and depression so topping up with daily Cod Liver Oil is a quick and easy way to support health and wellbeing.
I’ll be documenting my supplement journey over on Twitter so be sure to follow me or check out #TRUEAGE to keep up to date.
