I’m finally back with another House & Home post. I have quite a few of these coming up over the summer months. It’s going to be nice to have some time to spend painting and changing up a few things in our new house. We’re always on the go and haven’t spent as much time making changes as we’d like.
We currently have a skip sitting outside which we’ve filled with old cupboards, a mattress and other bits and bobs. It’s already made such a difference to how the house feels. It’s much more spacious and less cluttered. I was also pleased to have a few people knocking on and asking if they could take the mirrored doors and bed frame away. It’s good to see our unwanted things being up-cycled and put to good use.
We’ve been taking things slow with our house because we don’t want to rush decisions. Our bedroom is mostly done but I still need some prints and a lampshade to complete it.
Right now we’re focusing on getting the lighting sorted throughout the house. Good lighting is so important and having the right mix of floor, ceiling and side lights can give your room a totally different look and feel.
Since moving into this new house we’ve decided to make the switch to LED lighting. We’re using up what we have and then slowly changing out the bulbs in each room. The first room we did was the kitchen. We take a lot of photography in there for our blogs so we wanted to have lights that matched closely to daylight. They’ve made a big difference to our work and I can’t wait to get the other rooms sorted.
When LED Hut asked if I’d like to team up for a sponsored post I knew it would be a perfect fit. I’ve had such a good experience with them. You pop over to their site to find out more about the different types of LED lighting that they stock. They also have a fantastic range of Smart Lighting.
Today I’m sharing 4 reasons we’ve decided to make the switch to LED lighting.
Long Life
This is one of the most popular and widely known benefits of LED lighting. They have a working lifespan of 50.000 to 100.000 hours and tend to last for around 20 years. This also makes them much lower maintenance than other forms of traditional bulbs. I’m always here for anything that makes life that little bit easier. The bulbs don’t burn out, instead they simply fade out as the years go by.
Save energy
LED lights use less energy. This means that they cut down on electricity usage and in the longer term will save money.
Colour Temperature
This was one benefit to LED lighting that really sold us. They’re available in a wide range of colour temperatures from a warm yellow light all the way down to a cool white light.
Instantly Bright
I love that LED lights are instantly bright when you turn them on. You don’t have to wait for a few minutes for them to reach full power. They also instantly turn off too. This means they use less energy and in the long-term will help you to save money.
