3 questions to ask yourself when you go shopping:
– Is this something I really need?
I think it’s very easy to get carried away with picking up bargains when the sales roll around. By the time you get home you realise you don’t need half of the things and the other half weren’t really reduced all that much.
I don’t personally find this happening to myself and haven’t done for many years. Instead, I’ll have an idea of what I need and then look at the sales, usually online, to see if I can find those specific items. It saves me a lot of time and money and I often end up with a few things I really need.
– How often will I get to wear this?
I’m all about buying classic items that I can take out year after year. Yes, that includes my quirky Kate Spade handbags too. I love a statement bag.
If you’re finding mostly trend-led items in the sales and you’re not 100% about them then remove them from your shopping cart, or don’t add them in there in the first place. Focus on buying quality items.
– Would I pay full price?
This is a really fantastic way of figuring out if you truly want something. Of course, picking things up in the sale is fun and super handy if you want to save a little money. Just be careful that you’re not buying something just because it has found its way into the sale section.
If I find something but wouldn’t pay full price for it then I know I don’t really love it.

My Shopbop picks:
I always love the seasonal sales from Shopbop and this time it’s no different. They have fab discounts on lots of my favourite brands so I thought I’d share a few things I have my eye on.
First up on my Shopbop wishlist is this bougie candle by LAFCO New York. It’s a soy wax candle which is made in the USA. I have no idea what it smells like but I adore the cute little pot it comes in. I’m a sucker for anything pearlescent.
Next up are the wild Golden Goose trainers. I’ve had my eye on the brand for a while now and I love all the different colours and giltter combos they do.
On my list every year is a White & Warren cashmere travel wrap scarf. This year might be the time I actually treat myself to one. They come in a lovely selection of pastel colours and will be perfect for the upcoming cold months.
I adore all things Anya Hindmarch but I think this beautiful heart and rainbow handbag might just be my all time favourite design. I’m not currently in the market for a new handbag but if I was this would certainly be the one.
Last but not least I’m eyeing up these Sol Sana combat boots. They look really snug and hard-wearing for winter.
