At the start of the year, I was invited to try out the Chocolate Afternoon Tea at the Godiva café in Meadowhall. The opportunity came about just after we’d moved house so it was nice to celebrate with a luxurious and indulgent chocolatey treat.
You can find out all about what’s included over on their menu or just scroll through my photos and get it booked. If you’re a bit of a chocoholic then you won’t be disappointed with this afternoon tea. It’s a real sweet treat and would make a lovely gift.
I grabbed P and P and we jumped on a tram to Meadowhall. The afternoon tea is for 2 but we shared it between the 3 of us. I think an afternoon tea is perfect for when you need a good catch up with friends or family. We really enjoyed having the opportunity to take some time away from work and house sorting.
The staff at Godiva were as lovely as ever (we’d previously been for hot chocolates but I’ll tell you more about that next week) and really made us feel relaxed and welcomed.
I wasn’t asked to put together a blog post about the afternoon tea experience. It was simply a campaign we worked together on over on Instagram. However, the experience was so good and I think it would make an excellent birthday or Christmas gift so it only makes sense to document it here on PGT.
The Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Godiva includes
4 cute and dainty little sandwiches;
Egg Mayonnaise on a yellow poppyseed brioche
Smoked salmon and lemon balm cress on a red sesame brioche
Cucumber and cream cheese on a green polenta brioche
Mature Irish cheddar, walnut and red onion chutney on an orange poppyseed brioche
Chocolate Fondue:
You’re given the option of warm melted Godiva chocolate in milk, dark or white. We went for dark and milk.
Then you’ll find a tray of goodies including:
Mini chocolate chip scones
Fresh strawberries
Calamansi and mango marshmallows
Granny Smith meringue
Chocolate, hazelnut and orange biscotti
Petits gâteaux for your top tray – they now let you pick between a selection of cakes
You’ll also get to pick two teas each from the Godiva Tea Menu.
Such a pretty collection of sandwiches and I love the colourful bread. The bread was fresh and although they were all tasty I think my favourite was the salmon.
Why do sandwiches taste better when they’re tiny?
This afternoon tea is perfect for any chocoholic. The fondue option makes it such a luxurious treat.
The fondue turns what would be a regular afternoon tea into something much more fun.
Even between 3 of us, there was more than enough food so if you’re sharing between 2 make sure you arrive feeling hungry.
The Granny Smith meringue was my favourite dipping option.
P loved the choc chip scone.
P was all about the chocolate, hazelnut and orange biscotti.
There’s plenty of seating at the Godiva café but I’d always recommend booking ahead before going.
Thanks to Godiva at Meadowhall for inviting us to try their afternoon tea. It was a lovely treat and fun to take P and P with me. We all really enjoyed the food and would certainly go back again. It would be ideal for any chocoholics – the perfect birthday or Christmas gift.
