I love visiting London and squeeze in as many trips throughout the year as I can. Saying that, I’m well overdue a trip. The last time I went was early December and that was the only visit I managed during my pregnancy.
Luckily, I’ll be spending a few weeks at homehome in Cambridge over the summer. I do this every year. It gives me the chance to spend time with my family and catch up with friends.
I also love that I can pop into London really easily from Cambridge. Having the option of flexible anytime tickets is important to me. It means I don’t have to rush for a specific train and can extend my trip as I please.
This year my London trips will be a little different. I’ll be taking baby X along with me and in-between grabbing a G&T with L or A I’ll be looking for some fun baby-friendly activities.
During my feeding sessions I’ve been doing some research. I’ve put together a list of baby-friendly activities around London which I’ll be sharing with you today.
There’s so much to do with babies in London. I’m really excited to get to as many of these things as possible and I hope it gives you a little summer inspiration.
6 Baby-Friendly Summer Events In London
Music and Movement for 0-2 year olds at Kew Gardens
There are 5 sessions over the summer. Each one takes children on a journey around the world through music making, interactive stories, songs, rhymes and dance.
Discover Children’s Story Centre
This is the UK’s first story centre. Their aim is to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for children in fun and imaginative ways. The centre is packed full of interactive exhibitions (which change every six months). There are regular workshops with authors, illustrators, poets, musicians, artists and storytellers.
V&A Come and Play with Montessori
Pop down to the V&A and meet the team from Montessori Centre International for a sensory, creative play session with your little one. Each session explores a theme related to different parts of the Museum.
The next session is on the 10th July and then the 11th September. They then continue on the second Wednesday of the month ’til December. I really hope to get along to one of these.
This is a concert series that can be found at many locations around the UK.
It’s designed for babies, toddlers and their carers to enjoy world class performances. You can feed, have a coffee, dance and relax.
Pattern Pod at the Science Museum
This is on the ground floor of the museum. It’s a fun and stimulating place for little ones to learn and develop their science skills. Fun, interactive exhibits encourage then to recognise and copy patterns.
National Gallery’s ‘magic carpet’ storytelling sessions
Every Sunday pop down to the National Gallery for an interactive story session in front of a painting.
I plan to start sharing more baby-friendly events and activities here on PGT. They’ll focus around Sheffield, London and Cambridge.
Thank you to Southern Railway for collaborating with me on this post.
