Lisboa is my new favourite coffee shop in Sheffield. Actually, it’s a patisserie that specialises in Pastéis de Nata – Portuguese custard tarts.
I’ve been meaning to tell you about it ever since I first stumbled upon the colourful little cafe just before summer. I think it was back in April, a few weeks after X was born. I had totally missed that it had opened up earlier in the year so it was a delightful surprise.
It’s a sweet slice of Portugal nestled right in the centre of Sheffield, just by the Peace Gardens on St. Paul’s Parade.
Their furniture is bright yellow, you can’t miss it when you’re walking down the street. Inside they have the most beautiful floor tiles, you’d expect nothing less from a Portuguese inspired cafe and they make damn fine coffee.
Everything is imported from Portugal including their their oven, ingredients, coffee and even their chef is Portuguese.
This place is the real deal.
Inside you’ll find their classic Pastéis de Nata (the best I’ve had) as well as lots of other authentic pastries, cakes and sandwiches. Check out their other sweet treats over on Instagram.
Each time I’ve been into the shop their staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere although we often sit outside with our big pram.
If you find yourself in Sheffield you must swing by for a coffee or just stock up on tarts, they come in a super cute box too which would make them perfect as a little gift.
