Nothing beats a classic advent calendar with a little chocolate hiding behind each door. Although some may argue that a true classic would be the beautiful paper ones with a picture from the nativity. Then there’s also the option to use something like this and make your own. All of these are wonderful things to have around the home during the run-up to Christmas. However, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t a place for the more extravagant calendars that we see popping up these days.
Today is all about advent calendars for toddlers. There are so many around this year with but these are the ones that have caught my eye for Christmas 2021. I haven’t included any chocolate ones because they’re just so easy to find and I’m keen to share something a little different here on PGT.
Please double check the age guidance or each advent calendar.
Organix Advent Calendar
My little one was gifted the Organix advent calendar from his bestie last year and it was a lot of fun. It was his first experience of an advent calendar and he really enjoyed opening up a door at snack time to see what was behind it. I’d happily buy this again for him.
The Gruffalo and Friends Advent Calendar Book Collection
This advent calendar includes 24 mini books to add a little extra magic in the count down to Christmas. My son and I really enjoy the Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler books so I know this would be fun to open each evening. Also, little ones love tiny books.
There are many book focused calendars this year including ones from Mr. Men and Peppa Pig.
Playmobil Christmas Grotto Advent Calendar with Father Christmas
There are a few Playmobil advent calendars around this year. We haven’t started playing with this brand yet but I’m sure we will in the coming years.
If you have a child who loves to play with Playmobil then this looks like a lovely advent calendar to try. It has lots of fun and unique festive figures which build up a Christmas grotto throughout December but can be played with all year.
Woodland Christmas Advent Calendar
This is one of those advent calendars that you can bring out year after year and use as decor. It has 25 numbered animals and festive themed decorations to add to the beautiful wooden tree in the build up to Christmas.
BRIO Advent Calendar
This one for all the train lovers. It’s by the classic brand, BRIO. The front of the calendar folds down to reveal a festive scene full of fun. There are 24 toys compatible with the BRIO World railway system including tracks, animals, a unique Christmas train and more.
Melissa & Doug Advent Calendar
I love the idea behind this wooden magnetic Christmas advent calendar from Melissa & Dough. It’s another calendar that can come out every year as part of your Christmas decor.
The set includes 24 magnetic ornaments plus a shining star for Christmas day. Little ones pick a favourite design to add to the tree each day.
Happy Land Advent Calendar
This is a Happyland Advent Calendar from the Early Learning Centre. There are 24 chunky festive figures behind each door. It looks like his has a good selection of figures and they’re perfect for tiny hands.
